Mosquito Bites Do not scratch! Apply calamine lotion, and install a mozzy machine. These are available from supermarkets, or apply anti bite spray
Wasp Stings Apply ammonia at once. If non available use sun tan oil or urine.
Bee Stings Apply a paste of Bicarbonate of Soda, but the sting must be removed first.
Sea Urchins Apply a thick layer of toothpaste or olive oil which should help draw out the spike.
Insect in the ear Drop in a little warm olive oil. DO NOT use water.
Sting in the throat Suck some ice cubes at once to prevent swelling.
Go straight to the doctor.
Prickly Heat Do not cover the affected area. Apply vinegar, astringent or pure alcohol, which is available at any supermarket or chemist. Stay out of the sun.
Stomach Upset Starve yourself for 24 hours, make sure that you drink plenty of water. Then try some plain boiled rice and gently introduce more solid food.
Sunburn Spread plain yoghurt over the affected area and leave to dry or dab on pure alcohol every few hours, then plenty of after sun lotion and drink plenty of water.
Sunstroke Place a cold, wet towel on the back of the neck. Lie down in a cool, dark room and drink lots of water.
