The Cyprus Tourism Organization Public Beaches, with cafeterias, bars and restaurants, offer full facilities to swimmers, including changing-rooms, and beach furniture for hire (Parasols, chairs and reclining chairs).Cyprus relies heavily on tourism so it's not surprising it has a plethora of good beaches to enjoy. They are evenly scattered all over the island and all those mentioned possess EU Blue Flags. This means they meet the required standards of water quality and merit the attentions of serious sun-worshippers!
Paphos
Six of the Paphos beaches have been awarded the coveted European Blue Flag awards in 2004. These are Pachyammos, Vrysoudia A, Vrysoudia B, Alykes, Municipal Bath and Faros. The "Blue Flag" is awarded to beaches which meet some pretty stringent criteria, including: the quality of the bathing water, and beach area management and safety.
These beaches are a joy to visit and you can let your kids play with impunity. The sands are fine and golden and you can sunbathe, play volleyball or whatever appeals to you.
This is what sun and sand holidays are all about and a few days relaxing on the beach will put you in the right frame of mind to return to the real world. Paphos' best beach is Coral Bay. This is a beautiful, sandy horseshoe-shaped bay just outside Paphos in Peyia. It is easily reached by car or public bus, has a café on the beach and clear, calm waters. The beach slopes gradually so is fun for children.
Geroskipou Public Beach
An excellent beach with great conditions for swimming and water sports.
Dasoudi Public Beach
Here you can endeavor in windsurfing, parasailing, water skiing, or simply lying in the sun. The beach offers all the facilities and services to the bathers including a beach side café and sun loungers.

Limassol
To get the maximum benefit from the sea, visit the seaside Thalassotherapy Spa in Le Meridien hotel, Limassol with its indoor, tiled steam rooms and landscaped, outdoor water pools. Santa Barbara and Loures are Limassol's best public beaches, while halfway between Paphos and Limassol is the famous Aphrodite beach with its unusual rock formations, said to be the birthplace of the Goddess of Love.
Ladies' Mile
The beautiful Ladies Mile beach is located near the New Limassol Port and is only a 10-15 minute drive from Limassol Town centre. Here you can walk along the golden sandy beach, swim in the crystal calm waters or even have a go on the water sports facilities. The water here is shallow and very clear, so it’s safe for kids, and the sand runs for miles so if you’d prefer some peace and quiet you will be sure to find it here. Ladies Mile beach is one of the most popular windsurfing spots on the island due to its flat shallow water.
Curium Beach
One of the most appealing beaches on the island, Curium is a beach of unspeakable beauty. The sea is rough and wild, whereas the beaches are gentle to have fun on. The ancient Roman Curium Amphitheatre, which has been rebuilt, is directly above the Curium beach, and you may see hand-gliders riding above the Curium cliffs. This beach is also a popular sailing spot but can get overcrowded with swimmers.
Pissouri Beach
This beach is located in the beautiful village of Pissouri. Its waters are clean, warm and safe to swim in with a beautiful sandy, shingle beach. During the summer there are a number of water sports facilities and there is also a small diving school for anyone who would like to learn scuba diving. Rarely overcrowded, except for Sundays when the locals have the time to go to the beach. There are also many taverns along the beach which offer delicious Cypriot delicacies.
Kourion Beach
A vast, curving beach overlooked by the stunning 2nd century AD amphitheatre, located 20km west of Limassol.
Governor's Beach
Governor's Beach is located midway between Larnaca and Limassol and its sandy beach and shallow crystal water it's ideal for families with children, but also for romantic couples.Governor's Beach also offers the spectacular white rocks area for those who like snorkeling, boating, fishing…or have a nice walk in one of the many nature trails on the hills near by, or on the beach watching a beautiful sunrise. There is a grate selection of nice restaurants, where you can enjoy your lunch or dinner sitting under the trees… just a few meters away from the crystal water of the Mediterranean Sea. LarnakaThe holiday town is lined by a palm-fringed, Miami-style seafront promenade, backed by restaurants and fronted by Phinikoudes, a long, sandy beach. For a quieter beach on the outskirts of town, try McKenzie although this has water sports and tavernas too.

Mckenzie Beach is well known for its beautiful white sandy beach and refreshing waters. Here you can enjoy the water sports facilities, which include scuba diving. Less than a five minute drive from Larnaca airport, Mackenzie Beach offers a great choice of restaurants famous for their Cyprus cuisine and fresh fish.
Ayia Napa/Protaras
The east coast arguably has the best beaches on the island. Nissi Beach, synonymous with pumping garage tunes and daytime boozing, is the heart of Ayia Napa's sun-worshipping scene, while Macronissus beach is also party central. Both are gorgeous, golden sand bays and very busy in high season. Fig Tree Bay in Protaras is great for families, while for a quieter experience altogether, head for Konnos Bay. For a rocky ramble, try Cape Greco for gorgeous, aquamarine waters.
The coast of Agia Napa is considered as the finest regarding beaches in Cyprus. Extensive silvery, sandy beaches cover the area which attracts the majority of tourists. All along the beaches of Agia Napa, facilities for all sea sports are provided including water-skiing, wind-surfing, sailing canoes, pedals, motor boats, scooters, speed-boats, parachutes, scuba-diving and morePalaces In between Limnara Beach and Cape Greco stand the Palaces. They do not constitute any particular structure but instead are named for the admirable formations on the rocks. The rocky beach has been sculptured by the sea waves which give the impression of being a fine work of architecture. The reflected light together with the crystal waters form a dreamy picture. This site can only be reached by boat.
Limnara Beach
About four kilometres east of Agia Napa the visitor comes to Limnara Beach. Though small it is one of the loveliest beaches, and is well-protected from the wind.
Konnos Beach It is situated two kilometres east of Agia Napa on the road between Cape Greco and Protaras. It's one of the most picturesque beaches on the island, well sheltered from the prevailing winds.
Kermia Situated two kilometers east of Agia Napa on the main road leading to the Cape Greco, Kermia Beach is located on the west side of Cape Greco. It is private and remote.
Pantahou This beach stretches from the fishing harbour of Agia Napa for more than a kilometer and follows on easterly direction. Thousands of tourists visit it every year. Facilities for all sea sports are provided for and cafes, snack bars and restaurants abound in the area. The fishing harbour of Agia Napa with its small colorful boats adds character to the view and is a happy reminder of the past.
Sandy Bay Sandy Bay Beach is found 400 yards or so east of Nissi Bay. The beach is also fully protected from winds. Facilities for sea sports are provided for and as is the coast with most beaches, catering facilities are also offered.
Kryo Nero Beach This beach stretches from the fishing harbor of Agia Napa for more than a kilometer and follows an easterly direction. Thousands of tourists visit it every year. Agia Thekla Situated six kilometres west of Agia Napa is petite Agia Thekla. It has a small island within its grasp and is within walking distance from the main road taking you to Agia Napa. It has taken its name from a tiny old church in that area bearing the same name.
Makronisos Beach A cluster of bays forms Makronisos beach. The three bays stretch out in different directions, one to the west, the second to the southwest whereas the third one stretches in a south-easterly direction resulting in well sheltered beach areas.
Landa Beach A 300 meters long beach is found in the middle of Makronisos beach and Nissi Bay - only 500 meters away from each beach.
Nissi Beach - Nissi BayOnly three kilometers west of Agia Napa. These closely connected twin beaches attract thousands of tourists every year. Nissi, which in Greek means a small island, gives a new dimension to the beauty of the landscape. It is well sheltered from the wind and facilitates all sea sports. There are also cafes, pubs and restaurants in the area.
Vathia Gonia Vathia Gonia is found 400 yards east of Nissi Bay. The beach is also fully protected from winds. Sea sport facilities are provided.
Pernera Beach This beach stretches up to 200 meters long and is located in between the beaches of Vathia Gonia and Katsarka.
Katsarka Beach A rocky beach 800 meters long, situated about 500 meters west of the fishing harbour, just before the Pernera Beach.
